Ludwig Wüst often deals with legacies in his films. He allows the past to reverberate in a present for which he seeks the simplest, clearest form possible with his stories. In I am Here! a man (Markus Schramm) and a woman (Martina Spitzer) go together into a forest to dig up something. They let themselves be captured a little by nature, but at the same time it gradually becomes clear how two existences have moved away from each other for a long time, only to end something together at a certain point that was experienced lonely. Ludwig Wüst was once a no-budget maverick, now he almost shows his age. (reb)
